Sawyer Road wins annual Reading Bowl

Sawyer Road Elementary School claimed the win for the second year in a row in the third annual Marietta Reads! Reading Bowl. The Marietta Center for Advanced Academics finished second.

Marietta City Schools’ elementary schools squared off Friday, February 2, 2007 in the system’s third annual Reading Bowl to test student reading and retention skills. Competing for this year’s title were eight teams consisting of five members and up to two alternates, as they answered questions based on 20 different books read by students prior to the competition.

The winning team trophy from this year goes to next year’s Reading Bowl winners. All team members (including second place) received medals, ribbons and certificates.
