Marietta Reads! partner Scholastic Book Fairs recently recognized thirty-nine elementary grades students for achieving Top Reader status. Marietta Reads! 4th Annual Read-A-Thon Raises Over $4,500
Marietta Reads! today announced the results of its fourth Annual Read-A-Thon fundraising program for Marietta City Schools elementary and Sixth Grade Academy students. Participating students collected donations based on the amount of reading they did. More»
Sixth Grade Literacy Tutors Wanted
Marietta Sixth Grade Academy needs literacy tutors. Training is provided and the schedule is flexible. The Georgia Literacy Connection Program provides tutorial literacy services to sixth grade students. Tutors help students with word attack skills, phonics, grammar and necessary skills to become an accomplished reader. Marietta Reads! Factors In All-America City Selection
As part of the National Civic League process that led to Marietta ’s selection as an All-America City, the Judges required that the city demonstrate a program to benefit children. Marietta Reads!, the Marietta City Schools citywide effort to foster reading and literacy in the community, successfully helped the city illustrate how the program has increased student test scores and book circulation. |
